Sarah Palin is not a phenomenon

This quote from a woman at a Virginia rally may explain everything to those who can't understand her sustained appeal:

'She justifies what we do every day. She does what we do, she lives like we do. She's just as flawed as we are. There are more American parents with unwed pregnant teenage children than American parents with Harvard graduates. She's real.'

Not sure whether her numbers are correct, but I bet she is right.
While Obama is busy trying to make jokes at Palin's expense with vulgar put-downs, this woman seems to have embraced a Palinesque way to gently poke at Obama without losing sight of the larger point.
